What about pad printing? How does it work?

The fact that it works on substrates (irregular surfaces) and flat ones makes it lithe in nature. With the use of flexible inks, it can uplift the entire process. The pad, cliché and the ink are the most vital working elements. As a cost-effective method it is done with a few basic steps.

Cliché– The image is etched on a flat print plate. An inverted inkcup gravitates toward the print plate. It populates the entire surface. When exposed to air it becomes sticky.

Transfer– The silicone pad ‘picks’ up the inked image and travels towards the substrate. The air is pulled outwards. The ink is transferred from the etch plate to the pad.

Print– It makes contact with a little pressure. The image is deposited and delivered on the surface.

Advantages and applications

Many industries can use pad printing as it can convert 2-d images onto 3-d objects.  As the image is picked up the final result is fantastic. Imagine what it can do to your logo? You may wish to apply it on a golf ball, a syringe or any other odd object. Both single color and multiple tonal options are available. It is an indirect off-set process which illuminates the details of the image clearly. It is a perfect way to decorate consumer goods for gifting and electronics. In the automobile and medical device industry it offers a precision value to printing.
