GENERAL TECHNICAL DETAILS

Z-INKS AQUATINGS 225 has been formulated for application via ink ducts and can be applied in-line over wet ink as well as off-line. The coating dries via a combination of penetration and evaporation and requires accelerated dryers in the form of hot air knives and IR lamps. Optimum stack temperatures are 28-32°C. A slight application of a medium to large sized spray powder is recommended.

Z-INKS AQUATINGS 225 can be applied as a dry solid using a rough grained aluminium plate or as a spot image by stripping a blanket or by employing a photo-polymer plate.

Upon starting up, it is recommended to apply a heavier than usual film weight. This will assist with any initial drying/stability problems. The film weight can be reduced as required. During press stops, the plate and blanket should be cleaned using either warm water or a dedicated wash. Upon starting up the rollers should be sprayed with a fresh start retarder in order to ensure a clean start up.

Z-INKS AQUATINGS 225 contains silicones that are unsuitable for gluing or foil blocking. An alternative product is available if required.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

Waterbased emulsions should not be exposed to temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C. During cold months, it is recommended that containers are kept off of cold floors and stored on pallets. The Pulse Printing Products range of emulsions have a 12 month shelf life - if unopened and stored in the correct conditions. Manufacture date is available on the label. Waterbased emulsions are non hazardous and require no special storage or labelling.
